Dr. Jo Uses Logo Stamps as a Finishing Touch for Flower Arrangements
Logo Stamps are one of our most popular stamps for a reason, versatility. Being able to use a single stamp on a variety of papers, boxes, and even envelopes make these stamps an amazing value for small businesses. Joanna McFarland of Flowers by Dr. Jo, uses logo stamps as a finishing touch for her flower arrangements. She took a few minutes out of her day to answer our questions about her business and how she uses logo stamps.
Where did your passion for flowers come from?
When we moved into our house a few years ago, we were fortunate to acquire some beautiful, mature perennial flowers such as hydrangeas, Pieris Japonica, rhododendrons, calla lilies, peonies, and more. I have loved learning to care for these plants as well as sharing their beauty with friends and family. There is nothing like the feeling of bringing joy to others in the form of fresh-cut flowers.
What is your business called and how did you get started in the flower industry?
After spending the last few years as a hobby gardener, I decided to take the leap and launch our business, Flowers by Dr. Jo, earlier this year.
What services do you provide? What is your favorite service and why?
We sell market bouquets from a flower stand in our yard. I love putting together fresh bouquets based on what’s blooming in my garden and the convenience of selling from a stand via the honor system cannot be beat.
Can you describe a favorite moment from running a flower business or interacting with customers?
We grow all our flowers in our yard on a small urban plot in Seattle, on the corner of a moderately busy intersection. This means that most of the work I do is very visible to people walking or driving by. I love it when people stop by to chat, ask questions, or compliment my flowers.
How did you get the idea to use rubber stamps for your business? What do you use the stamp for in your business?
Sustainability is very important to us and we wanted an easy way to showcase our branding while keeping our packaging fully compostable. We use the stamps on the kraft paper of our wrapped bouquets for branding.
Has using stamps helped in any way? If so, how?
The stamps are easy to use and it’s great that my kids can get involved by helping stamp.
