Product Questions

  • Does the color of the ink vary depending on the type of stamp I choose?

Yes. We created this handy sheet for people to see the different colors and how they can vary between types of stamps. Please note color tones may vary across computer monitors and mobile devices.

  • What is the difference between self-inking and pre-inked stamps?

Self-inking stamps flip up, hit an ink pad and flip back down. They are good for 7,000+ impressions and can be re-inked. Pre-inked stamps have the ink molded right into the wording. Pre-inked stamps are good for 50,000+ impressions and can be re-inked.

  • Is the stamp I see on the screen the exact size I will receive?

Once you enter your text or upload your artwork and click the PREVIEW/UPDATE button, dimensions of your stamp impression will appear around your stamp text. In addition, there will be a "Save PDF Proof" button which will allow you to save and print a .pdf proof so you know what size you will receive. Since screen resolutions may vary, we do recommend generating a .PDF proof for accurate sizing.

  • What is the difference between polymer and natural rubber?

Polymer is a plastic material and works great for most applications. A natural rubber is recommended when using industrial type inks or solvents that would eat away at the polymer material.

  • What will the depth and relief depth of my stamp plate be?

Our polymer stamps are .10" (1/10") overall depth. The relief, or raised portion is approximately .035"+ deep. If you choose to upgrade to natural rubber stamps the rubber stamps are .095" (95/100") overall depth. The relief is approximately .04"+ deep.

  • What is the difference between an embosser and a seal stamp?

Embossers or seals actually crimp the paper. Seal stamps make a stamped ink impression on the paper.

  • How far will my seal impression reach into my paper?

The standard reach from the edge of your paper to the center of the seal impression is between 1 1/2" and 1 3/4". If you need a longer reach into your paper, our long reach seals extend to 4 1/4" from the side of the paper.

  • What kind of stamp should I use for stamping on hands?

Our Stamps for Skin page will display different options based on the length of time you would like the ink to remain on the skin. The amount of time the stamp impression will last also depends on the skin conditions, the amount of ink in the stamp and what the individual uses (different soaps or cleaners) to remove the stamp.

  • How do I unlock my pocket seal or desk top embossing seal?

It's easy to unlock your seal by following this link to unlock your embossing seal.

  • What does CO2 Neutral mean?

The stamps that have a CO2 neutral logo are manufactured with a minimized carbon footprint (49% of CO2 emissions can now be saved during the production process). These products are manufactured with the highest content of recycled plastic that is technically possible. The residual unavoidable CO2 footprint of these products is compensated for by investment in Gold Standard climate protection projects recommended by the World Wildlife Foundation.

  • What is the thinnest line I can use to look good on my stamp?

The thinnest line weight we recommend is 0.5 point. Lines thinner than that do not turn out well in our stamp making process.
